Hey there! Let me tell you a story about a man named Henry Titcombe who was a really cool maker of musical instruments! He started out working with light-coloured metals like tin, but then he got really into making woodwind instruments! You know, like clarinets and flutes. He was so good at it, he even made a special, rare instrument called a 'serpent' for a church in a town called Shipton-under-Wychwood. But get this - he was so good that he even supplied instruments to the Grenadier Guards' band back in the 1850s! How cool is that? Can you imagine playing an instrument that was made by Henry Titcombe? But that's not all, his home and workshop used to be right on High Street in Burford. That's where Amanda Hanley by Design's showroom is now! So next time you walk by there, maybe you can imagine all the amazing instruments that were made there so long ago. Pretty neat, huh?
