Faringdon Folly Tower and Woodland

Imagine a huge Tower that stands 100 feet tall, overlooking a magical woodland full of old trees like the Scots Pine and broadleaf. This Tower is Faringdon's special landmark, and it's known as a "folly" because it was built just for fun! It's the last one of its kind in all of England. When you climb to the top of the Tower, you can learn all about the history of Folly Hill, the famous Henry James Pye, Oliver Cromwell, and the very interesting Lord Berners, who actually came up with the idea for the Tower. And that's not all - there are so many cool things to discover in the woodland! Look for the 24 black birds hidden in the trees, Cromwell's cannon, a fairy house, a piano, and even some sculptures of birds and animals. You might even catch a glimpse of a troll or a giraffe! It's like a treasure hunt waiting for you in the woods. And guess what - the woodland is always open for you to explore, and you can go in for free!
